 As a closeted gay college student at a conservative Christian university, there was a lot that Tommy expected when he agreed to a second date with an older guy he met on Grindr.  He expected to spend the whole evening looking over his shoulder, afraid of seeing someone he knew. He expected that he might chicken out and run at the first sight of his date. And he absolutely expected that if he made it through the public part of the evening, his date had better make the private part a night to remember.  What he did not expect was that he would be implicated in a murder. That he would be urged out of the closet by a dead trans blues singer, or that the devil he sold his soul to on the corner of Beale and Second Street. would be J. R. R. Tolkien. Tricked into a deadly game of cat and mouse with the denizens of hell and adrift in the messy lives and memories of the permanent inhabitants of Elmwood Cemetery, Tommy’s future and his eternal destiny is anything but guaranteed. His only option is to survive the game and make it out before the clock strikes midnight and the Devil claims his soul.
